WELLNESS & THERAPY

THERAPY SERVICES

  • We have a Clearlight Sanctuary 2-person infrared sauna with far infrared and full spectrum heaters.

    Near Infrared is the shortest wavelength and will be absorbed just below the surface of the skin, creating a sweat that promotes healing and revitalization.

    Mid-infrared is a longer wavelength that can penetrate deeper into the body’s soft tissue, increasing circulation and releasing oxygen to reach injured areas.

    Far infrared is the longest wavelength, which penetrates the fat cells, causing vasodilation, where the fat cells vibrate to expel toxins, resulting in the greatest levels of detoxification and stimulating your metabolism to aid in weight loss.
The sun is the primary source of radiant energy, but not all of this energy is beneficial. Although life needs energy from the sun, too much sunlight damages the skin. Infrared heat provides all the healthy benefits of natural sunlight without any dangerous effects of solar radiation.

    The temperature inside an infrared sauna is adjustable and averages a comfortable 100°F to 130 °F. These lower temperatures allow you to sweat faster and to tolerate a longer sauna session offering greater therapeutic benefit. Typical sessions last 20 to 45 minutes and can be repeated once or twice daily to maximize the benefits. Infrared saunas leave you feeling invigorated, not depleted like conventional saunas.

    Our sauna includes Chromotherapy (color therapy) & Vibrational Resonance Therapy.

  • Thomas’s approach to bodywork leans toward fascial release therapies such as ART and Anatomy Trains. Unlike traditional massage, which is more geared toward relaxation and focuses on the entire body to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, Thomas focuses on specific issues using joint assessments and applying fascial release techniques to targeted tissues. These techniques are often more uncomfortable but achieve more remarkable tissue changes that can lead to increased mobility and decreased pain.

  • Core Flow is Low Pressure Fitness, a practice that started with hypopressives. The LPF training method is a movement and postural exercise system that improves breathing coordination and deep core muscle stabilizers. The poses incorporate hypopressive techniques to reduce pressure through the core and pelvic floor as well as improve posture and myofascial and neurodynamic mobility. In class, we will move through a sequence of poses, similar to a yoga flow. As we are focused on the movement of the breath, it is also beneficial as a mindfulness practice. LPF helps with postpartum recovery, leaking & pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, and athletic performance.

  • Whole-body vibration is a technology first developed by scientists in the second half of the 20th century to reduce bone density loss and muscle atrophy in astronauts exposed to zero-gravity conditions. The Power Plate vibrates up to 50 times a second, sending tiny vibrations through your body. These little micro vibrations activate muscles, burn more calories, improve circulation, and assist muscle recovery. Studies show that using the Power Plate for 5 min, 3 days a week, significantly increases body density in post-menopausal women.

  • Join us for a free community-guided meditation. Meditation will be breathing focused.

  • Kinesiology taping (KT) is a therapeutic tool and has become increasingly popular within the sporting arena. Taping has been used for a long time for the prevention and treatment of sporting injuries. KT is not only used for sporting injuries but for a variety of other conditions. There are many proposed benefits to KT, including: proprioceptive facilitation, reduced muscle fatigue, muscle facilitation, reduced delayed-onset muscle soreness, pain inhibition, enhanced healing such as reducing edema, and improvement of lymphatic drainage and blood flow.

    We offer K-Taping for a variety of indications. We specialize in issues specific to pregnancy, postpartum, and related to the breasts and uterus.

    Common applications for K-taping:

    * neck tightness & pain

    * injury support (after the acute phase)

    * low back pain

    * carpel tunnel syndrome

    * pregnant belly support

    * discomfort with menstruation
